Magnat Signature Edelstein Bookshelf Passive Speakers

These ultra-compact, state-of-the-art bookshelf speakers have been meticulously designed and manufactured in Germany to deliver an unrivalled audio experience in such a small package. Every component has been carefully optimised for outstanding performance across the entire audio spectrum.

The Signature Edelstein make use of a dual-compound fabric dome tweeter with an extra-wide surround that enhances the dispersion of frequencies above 20kHz, ensuring a rich and immersive soundstage. The specially calculated ‘Spherical Wave-Guide’ integrated into the solid aluminium front panel guarantees optimal radiation patterns and, by fixing directly to the front panel, unwanted vibrations surrounding the tweeter are minimised. The tweeter’s high-performance neodymium magnet system provides outstanding dynamics and resolution.

Magnat’s meticulously engineered woofer is a masterpiece in distortion-free audio reproduction. Its innovative ‘3L Sandwich Diaphragm’, composed of ceramic, magnesium and aluminium layers finished with an inverted dust cap guarantees rigidity and internal damping. Coupled with a Kapton voice coil for stable current delivery and housed within a non-magnetic aluminium die-cast basket for absolute stability in use, the Signature Edelstein are capable of remarkable clarity and efficiency considering their size. 

The phase and amplitude-optimised crossover network in the Signature Edelstein has been designed to support audio excellence. The low-impedance bass-midrange section minimises electrical loss, while high-quality, oxygen-free copper internal cabling with substantial conductor cross-sections ensures pristine signal transmission. Capped with a milled aluminium terminal block featuring gold-plated screw connectors to suit a wide variety of speaker cables, the speakers remain easy to accommodate. 

The Signature Edelstein boast a sturdy MDF cabinet, finished in satin black or satin white. The striking aluminium front panel is machined and burnished to fine tolerances to create a subtle yet hard-wearing façade. Mounted on a double base plate, featuring acrylic glass and solid aluminium layers, the base effectively removes vibration from the acoustic chamber while adding elegance to the overall design. The cabinet is finished with a specially coated Airflex port for optimal bass performance.

Functionality

Stereo speakers can be divided into floorstanders and bookshelf speakers. The choice of the size of the columns depends primarily on the size of the room. In rooms up to 10 sq m, it is worth choosing bookshelf speakers. In the case of rooms up to 20 sq m, both larger bookshelf and floorstanders will work well. In rooms with an area of ​​30 sq m and more, we recommend larger floor columns.

The vast majority of speakers are manufactured within one line, which consists of floorstanders, bookshelf speakers (often with hanging brackets included) and a central speaker - used for home theater. The above products are complemented by subwoofers, which, like stereo speakers, can significantly differ even in the same price range.

Usually, as part of a stereo system, it is possible to add a subwoofer and create a 2.1 set, which can also be treated as a basic home theater with the possibility of extending the center column and stand mount speakers - as rear surround speakers.
