The UHD-4K BenQ W4000i projector adopts a Texas Instruments 0.65" DMD chip to project a very bright and highly precise image. The BenQ W4000i also covers the entire DCI-P3 color space used for projecting movies in digital cinema, displaying over a billion different color shades. Its 4LED lamp offers a maximum brightness of 3200 lumens, with an estimated lifespan of 20,000 hours in normal mode and up to 30,000 hours in eco mode. Its 1.3x zoom and horizontal and vertical Lens Shift further simplify its installation. In practical terms, the BenQ W4000i projector can project an image with a diagonal size of 2.50 meters (100") at a distance ranging from 2.5 meters to 3.3 meters. Moreover, it comes with an Android TV module (BenQ QS02) certified by Google, providing access to online video services such as Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV+, and YouTube, including in 4K HDR.
BenQ W4000i: DLP UHD 4K, 3200 Lumens
Thanks to its support for Ultra High Definition 4K content (3840 x 2160 pixels), the BenQ W4000i projector can unveil all the details of movies in UHD 4K Blu-ray (requires a UHD 4K Blu-ray player) or from online video services like Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, and Prime Video. You'll experience a richer image with more details, and even if you move closer to the projection screen, you won't discern the individual pixels, providing a more immersive experience.
With its high brightness of 3200 lumens, the BenQ W4000i projector can project a very large UHD 4K image, even in a partially lit room. Unlike most DLP 4K projectors that utilize a 0.47-inch DLP/DMD chip, the UHD-4K BenQ W4000i projector incorporates a 0.65-inch DLP/DMD chip for Ultra High Definition 4K projection (3840 x 2160 pixels). Its larger display area transmits more light towards the lens, enhancing the overall brightness of the projected image.
The 4LED lamp of the UHD-4K BenQ W4000i projector provides a maximum brightness of 3200 lumens, allowing it to project in both a home theater and a partially lit living room. The lamp boasts a lifespan of up to 20,000 hours in normal mode and up to 10,000 hours in eco mode.
BenQ W4000i: HDR10+, Color Richness
The BenQ W4000i projector covers the entire Rec.709 (standard for 1080p HD content) and DCI-P3 (digital cinema standard) color spaces. This allows viewers to experience rich and highly nuanced colors (displaying 1.07 billion shades). This is made possible by utilizing a quadruple LED lamp (RVBB - Red, Green, Blue, Blue), similar to the one used in the BenQ X3000i gaming projector. Besides enhanced brightness and longevity, the use of LEDs for each primary color ensures better color control, extends the color space, and reduces or eliminates the rainbow effect that some viewers may experience.
The BenQ W4000i projector covers a wide color gamut to project images with rich, natural, and nuanced colors. Additionally, this BenQ projector is compatible with HDR HLG, HDR10, and HDR10+ standards, allowing for the display of more nuances in images captured with extended dynamic range. On the screen, both dark and bright areas of the image are reproduced with greater gradation, resulting in enhanced readability and detail.
BenQ W4000i: Factory Calibrated
One of the standout features of BenQ projectors is their meticulously precise color calibration performed at the factory. The BenQ W4000i is no exception, offering superb color accuracy right out of the box. The cinema mode is finely tuned for projection in low-light environments, while the Filmmaker mode ensures a faithful representation of the director's intentions. The brand's engineers extensively test and adjust numerous parameters using specialized instruments and software. Color temperature (D65), gamma, black, white, and neutral gray levels, color tracking, nuances, saturation, brightness, and colors are all finely calibrated.
The benefit for users is the immediate enjoyment of high-quality imagery without necessarily needing to navigate through the setup process. Of course, it's still possible to manually calibrate the BenQ W4000i projector using its extremely comprehensive settings menu. Alternatively, professional calibration can be performed, saving the settings within dedicated ISF profiles for day and night use.
BenQ W4000i: Android TV, Netflix, Prime Video, You
The BenQ W4000i projector comes with an Android TV module that directly connects to the back of the projector (dedicated HDMI port and micro USB power). Once connected to the internet, it allows access to various online video services, including Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, Apple TV, and YouTube. The projector grants access to a plethora of content in Ultra High Definition 4K and HDR. Additionally, users can download multiple applications and games from the Play Store. Simply connect a Bluetooth wireless controller to enjoy gaming on the big screen.
Once connected to the internet, the BenQ W4000i projector accesses most online video services, including Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, Apple TV, and YouTube. The included BenQ QS02 Android TV dongle also enables playback of shared video files on the local network, whether stored on a NAS or a computer within the network. Voice control via Google Assistant is available, as well as wireless content sharing from a smartphone using the Chromecast protocol.
BenQ W4000i: 1.3x Zoom, Lens Shift, H&V Keystone
The BenQ W4000i UHD-4K projector features a manual zoom (1.3x), providing users with flexibility in its placement. This allows achieving a 2.5-meter diagonal image (100 inches) by situating the projector at a distance ranging from 2.5 to 3.3 meters from the screen. Moreover, the horizontal and vertical optical shift provides adjustment leeway for aligning the projector with the projection screen axis. Lastly, the vertical (automatic) and horizontal (manual) Keystone correction helps rectify image geometry if the placement on the side or elevated positions surpasses the physical limits of the lens shift.
BenQ W4000i: HDMI 4K, eARC
The connectivity of the BenQ W4000i UHD-4K projector includes two HDMI 2.0 inputs (HDCP2.2) supporting UHD 4K streams up to 60 Hz. One of these inputs also facilitates the transfer of 5.1, 7.1, and Dolby Atmos audio tracks via the eARC protocol, simplifying connection to any home theater receiver or soundbar equipped with an HDMI ARC/eARC port. A third HDMI input is concealed behind a cover and is intended for the connection of the Android TV dongle. Additionally, the BenQ W4000i features a multimedia USB input and a powered USB port, along with a powered micro USB port for the BenQ QS02 dongle. An optical SPDIF audio output (5.1 channel audio) and a stereo mini-jack audio output are also present, allowing connectivity to a soundbar, AV receiver, or compact home theater system lacking an HDMI ARC input. Furthermore, a trigger socket is integrated, enabling simultaneous deployment, for instance, of an electric projection screen upon powering on the projector.
